it is predicted to be 102 today - i just came inside (it's about 8:30 and i started at 5:30 ... yes, that is a.m.) ... planted iris and some perennial viola i got from the Iris Festival, pulled nutgrass (a never-ending drag), trimmed the cape honeysuckles and tulip tree and sprinkled some annual viola seeds (yes, i am an optimist) ... Amos tried to lay on top of me most of the time or barked at people strolling past the front (the garage door is open enough for him to gaze out) ... i am please with my work but wish there was a bit of shade to sit and sip my morning coffee ...
