how could i forget? the dog-love of my life, Amos, is now with Penni and Shiner and Singer and Moon and Bear ... unfortunately, they are probably all chasing and howling after Abby Abstract (best cat in the WORLD!!!)

update

so ... a lot has changed since my last post in 2010 ... i now have 5 grandchildren, instead of the two pictured ... Annika (#1 grandchild) is 7, heading for 2nd Grade and is quite artistic and graceful (traits she did not inherit from me) while Nash (#2 grandchild) is 5, getting ready to start Kindergarten and reads everything ... Nolan (#3 grandchild) is 3, a pistol and reminds me of Nathaniel ... Phoenix (#4 grandchild) never stops and is so curious ... and Nyle (#5 grandchild) just turned 1 and has a smile that would light the world... i retired, moved to Iowa, bought and sold houses ... and that in the last 6 months! maybe this change in my life will encourage me to blog a bit more ... or NOT! i am more busy now that when i was working but not nearly as stressed and am infinitely happier and more at peace than when i was working

so i return from my Iowa vacation ... Amos is ecstatic to see me ... i go to the back porch to check out the few remaining plants and see they need water ... unknown to me a baby frog has taken up residence under the hose ... it hops out when i uncoil it and heads toward the BBQ but decides at the last moment to hop into my bedroom through the open glass door!!! YIKES! i move all the furniture around to try to find him (where did he hop to?) after an hour of searching, i give up and go to bed (it's about 11 pm) around 4, i get up to use the "facilities" and notice a small rock in the hallway corner near my bedroom, turn on the light and see the frog! i scoop him up and toss him outside

trying to get back into the blog frame of mind - for the past 6 months it has been work, work, work (12-hour days with some time also on Saturday or Sunday, few breaks during the day) - once i get home at 7p or 7:30p, i eat a piece of fruit or make my new passion: creamy peanut butter and fresh blueberries sandwich on Lender's whole wheat mini bagels - then it's crash time and up at 6a for the next day

but now i just returned from Los Angeles for Phoenix's birth

and i can hardly wait for my trip to Iowa!!!
